Japan vs South Korea 25/1/2011

Its the semi finals in the Asian Cup and Japan are taking on their arch rivals South Korea.

I have been happy with Japan and think they are the better side of the two. Their passing and finishing has been great and their ability to score goals has been impressive.

I have decided to back Japan at 2.64 if South Korea score first I will increase my liability and lay them and hope for an equaliser. If that happens I will leave more out against the Win for Japan as they are my preferred team. I will also leave a small amount on the draw.

Japan WIN $190.32
Korea WIN 174.69
Draw WIN $68.20

Sharapova vs Petkovic

Well the young sensation Petkovic (who loves a dance at the end of the match) is up against proven Grand Slam player Sharapova.

I have been following Petkovic before the Australian Open and it looks like she has the goods to put some pressure on Sharapova and firm up in the odds. She should also be well rested after Williams retired hurt after the first game of the first set in the third round.

Sharapova WIN $162.00
Petkovic WIN $117.55

Kuznetsova vs Schiavone 23/1/2011

This match was sure to be close but WOW - must have been the match of the tournament and is the longest ever womens tennis match in history!

With break after break I decided to trade out for an early greenbook and sit back and enjoy this match. It was moving far to fast for me and seeing we can only bet in-play over the phone I stayed out of it.

Turned out this is the best tennis match I had ever seen!!!

Kuznetsova WIN $91.70
Schiavone WIN $91.08

Australia vs England 23/1/2011

I got into this match at the end of the English innings and layed Australia at $1.37 only to then see England drop 2 more wickets and be all out in the 48th over.

Its always difficult for cricket sides to chase down totals at night and with the Australian top order of late not posting large totals I think that we will loose some early wickets and the odds will come in.

I anticipate trading out of this match early and hoping to see at least 20 ticks before I close out.

I ended up trading out at 1.54 for a handy profit both sides - Another greenbook for the weekend.

Now I can sit back and cheer on the Aussie's and see if they can chase down this low total.

Australian WIN $52.98
Wngland WIN $53.00

Wozniacki vs Sevastova 23/1/2011

First up today is highly rated Wozniacki playing a mid top 100 ranked Sevastova in the 4th round of the Australian Open.

Wozniacki is a low odds favourite to take out the Womens draw but Sevastova has been playing well this tournament and has not dropped a set yet.

I will be laying Wozniacki at low odds and trading out if we can get an early break.

Wozniacki broke in her first service game and I got out very early with a nice greenbook of $63 to start off the day.

Wozniacki WIN $63.06
Sevastova WIN $64.00

Nadal vs Tomic 22/1/2011

The Great Australian Hope - TOMIC

Nadal meets Tomic in the last of the third round matches of the Australian Open.

Nadal (as expected) is heavy favourite with lay odds at 1.03. I am going to lay those odds as Tomic might be able to take an early set with his funky shots and spin backhands.

There is alot of money to be made if Tomic can make a game of this one but I will trade out early at the first sign of movement in the market.

Tomic ended up loosing the first set 6-2 although it was alot closer than that in the first 4 games with Tomic even seeing a few break points.

Tomic then went 3-0 up in the 2nd and I traded out at that point in the match.

Tomic WIN $180.00
Nadal WIN $193.20

Clijsters vs Cornet 22/1/2011

Clijsters is the raving hot fav for this match but I just have a feeling that Cornet can cause her some trouble. Clijsters should win the match quite easily but in the Melbourne heat at lunchtime I am sure that it will be tough for both players out there - and possibly be some service breaks on both sides.

I am going to Lay Clijsters at very low odds and try and trade out at the hint of a service break.

Cornet ended up breaking Clijsters in the middle of the first step and I traded out for a healthy profit of $306.00 for a Clijsters WIN and $1024 for a Cornet Win......  This ended up being my best result for the day but I am waiting for the Tomic vs Nadal match later tonight. Hopefully we can beat this result later this evening.

Clijsters ended up breaking back and winning 2 sets to love.

Clijsters WIN $306.79
Cornet WIN $1024.00

Stosur vs Kvitova 22/1/2011

Aussie Stosur takes on Kvitova which is sure to be a tough match for Stosur. Kvitova is on the up and has risen through the WTA rankings in the last 12 months.

I am sure that Stosur will come out on top in the end but I think that Kvitova may put up an early fight and drop in price.

I am going to back Kvitova at $2.63 for $250 and try and trade out early in the match.

Kvitova nearly broke Stosur in her opening service game but Stosur fought back to hold - only to then break in her next service game. I traded out at 3-1 Kvitova.

Stosur WIN $117.00
Kvitova WIN $114.63

Japan vs Qatar 21/1/2011

Been getting into the Asian Cup over the past 2 weeks and thought Japan could do Qatar over easily..... Boy was I wrong.

Qatar scored in the first 20 mins to lead 1-0 and were at 7.20 at the start of the game.... Japan (heavy favourites) were at $1.68.

Japan soon equalised and half time went in at 1-1.

Soon after halftime a horrible decision to red card the Japanese defender for a tackle just outside the box which was a hopeless decision. Qatar scored from the free kick and were back in front.

Japan rallied and leveled again with 20 mins to go and it was game on! With 10 men and some scrappy play at the end they managed another goal to win 3-2.

I traded out with 5 mins to go as I could handle sitting on the edge of my seat for the rest of the game. All in all a great result and another night of successful trading.

Japan WIN $202.58
Qatar WIN $195.00
Draw WIN $195.00

Erlich/Ram vs Ball/Guccione 21/1/11

Well Well Well.......

I had big dollars laying Venus Williams against Petkovic which was my bet of the week. I was very confident that Venus couldn't keep up with Petkovic and, on top her groin injury, would lose is straight sets.

Venus retired hurt after breaking serve in the first game of the first set and all bets refunded..... NOT HAPPY

Oh well..... I am bored so I placed some money into a doubles match with Erlich/Ram vs Ball/Guccione after Ball/Guccione won the first set. I laid them at 1.69 and traded out at 1.86 for a tidy profit.

I am not to keen on keeping my money in a doubles match as they can go either way.

Erlich/Ram WIN $44.00
Ball/Guccione WIN $43.16

Australia vs England 21/1/2011

Australia vs England and the cousin is playing Doug Bolinger - I know he is geared up for a big one and here is hoping that they can stump up and bat and bowl.

I am laying England in this one and hope for and Australia fight back to win a match - which is much needed.

Australia WIN $196.61
England WIN $138.00

Del Potro vs Baghdatis 21/1/2011

Well another night of the tennis and I have come home at 10:00pm to see Del Potro down 2 sets to love with an early break in the 3rd.

Del Potro is to good of a player not to take a set in a Grand Slam so I am laying Baghdatis at 1.19 and hope to trade out at 1.5

20 mins later Del Potro breaks Baghdatis and takes the 3rd set and I have traded out at 1.50 for a good profit of $200.

Time to sit back and enjoy the rest of the match although I can see Del Potro taking the 4th set as well.

Del Potro WIN $207.00
Baghdatis WIN $206.50

Federer vs Simon 19/1/2011

I have been waiting for this match all week. Federer faces Simon in the Australian Open and Simon has beaten Federer the last 2 times they have played - even though that was in 2008.

Federer is 1.06 to lay and I think that Simon - even though he might not win, will be able to take at least a set from the greatest player in the world.

Federer ended up taking the first 2 sets quite easily and Simon turned it on in the 3rd to make it 2-1.  Simon played some awesome tennis in the 4th set to make  it 2-2. I decided to get out at this point and enjoy the 5th set.

I would normally stay in as I was set to win up to $1,600 on a Simon win - but this is not about backing winners - Its about taking your money out when its there.

Roger Federer WIN $269.34
Giles Simon WIN $241.00

Hewitt vs Nalbandian 18/1/2011

We one of my favourite sports is here for the next 2 weeks so I have decided to get all over it. Nothing swings better in the markets than tennis especially in a 5 set match with the market moving up and down with plenty to be made. I hope that this years Australian Open is as good or better than last year.

2008 was a great year with Tsonga and Djokovic shining through - I have some high hopes for Simon (if he can get past Federer and Soderling - who has been playing strong tennis over the past 6 months.

Anyway back to tonights play......

What better match to predict a 4 or 5 set competition than Hewitt vs Nalbandian. They have a history of long drawn out matches and both players know for not holding the lead.

Hewitt took the first and third sets and was 2-1 up going into the 4th. Nalbandian was 3-1 down breaking serve and came back to 5-3 - LOVE IT.

David Nalbandian WIN $256.37
Lleyton Hewitt WIN $280.51

Australia vs England ODI 16/1/2011

Well its stinking hot at home and can't be bothering going out today - so what better think can I think of doing but watching the cricket.

Australia have been nothing less than poor this summer whilst England has enjoyed some new found glory with the bat and some quality bowling performances from Temlett and the like.

Predicting an English victory for this one on a fast wicket there should be some 270+ scores to chase down. If England bat first I can't see Australia making the runs without running out of wickets.

Traded odds for most of the day taking England Early at 2.12. Traded it off mid afternoon and then started taking high odds of Australia at 3.20 and trading off at 1.88. Was able to do this for 3 wickets starting from the Bollinger wicket late in the afternoon.

Australia WIN $75.25
England WIN $151.77
