Wimbledon DAY 6

Here we go into day 6...

First up I am up $1000 so keeping with my rules I have taken the $1000 from betfair and starting with about $200 again. Lets start building it up again.

Starting off on the Fish v Haase match... Fish is 1 set up but I think that Haase can get the 2nd set and if he does we are in the green.

I am laying Fish at $1.17.

UPDATE... So Haase got the 2nd set and I backed Fish at $1.45 and have profit on both sides and I am in the green... another good win on the tennis to start the night off.

Fish WIN $105.00
Haase WIN $140.00

Sharks vs Titans

Started this match backing the Sharks as they have hit a bit of a purple patch and Gallen with have the team ready to fire.

I got out just after half time and was a great result. $128 minimum win and now I can sit back and watch the game and enjoy.

Titans WIN $128.00
Sharks WIN $158.00

Wimbledon DAY 5

Well day 5 opens at Wimbledon and I have been waiting for this game..... Lino V Bartoli.

I can't stand Bartoli and if there is anyone that can cause an upset the Lino has it in her. I am not going in to hard on this one as it is a bit rought - after all Bartoli is 1.07 favorite to win.

I am going in laying Bartoli at 1.08 and see if Lino can cause her some problems in the first set.
UPDATE: Lino has busted Bartoli in the first set and I am greening out for a nice profit of $115 each way which is an other great start to the night.

Bartoli WIN $115.00
Lino WIN $115.00

For the next bet I am going to be laying Sharapova and very low odds and see if we can find some value. Robson is a huge outside and outside the top 200 but had a great game in the first round which makes me think that she may cause some trouble - and on the NO1 court she might rise to the challenge. UPDATE: sure enought she went 3-0 in the first which was amazing for a player of her ranking and I greened out for a great profit of $126 minimum. Another great game and another good result for day 5.

Robson WIN $126.00
Sharapova WIN $137.00

Bernard Tomic is down 2 sets to 1 and I think he can come back and win this match. I am going to back him at odds of $3.00 and very confident that he can bring it back to 2 sets all. I will get out at that time if that happens and expect this to be a pretty solid bet. UPDATE... Sure enought Tomic levels it out at 2 sets all and I have greened out for $102 min profit.

Andreev WIN $102.64
Tomic WIN $112.22

My next match is going to be a cracker of a game. I am going in on Hantuchova Vs Azarenka. These are 2 of the best inform tennis players on the WTA and I think that Hantuchova will take heart from winning the last couple of meetings between the pair. I am backing Hantuchova to win the match and will hope that she gets away to a good start so I can green out and early and enjoy watching the match. I will update after the match

Wimbledon DAY 4

After lots of rain we head into day 4 of Wimbledon. I am starting off on a risky match first up but these are the games that can really pay off sometimes.

I am going to lay Williams at low odds of 1.10 and see if Helep can cause her any issues in the first set. Helep is an up an coming young player and probably a bit out of her depth.. but special tournaments like this can bring the best out of young players especially on Court 2.

I will update the result later in the match.... fingers crossed.

UPDATE: Helep broke Williams early and I got out of the match.. I could have made more money if I waited but as I said this is a risky match and I am happy with $90 guaranteed!! Happy to keep the winning streak going into day 4...

Williams WIN $90.00
Helep WIN $100.00

The next match I will have a go on is Hewitt V Soderling. Hewitt has been at Wimbledon training for weeks before the event and if he was ever going to trouble a top 10 player it will be here. Lleyton has never lost at Wimbledon before the 4th round and hopefully today will not be any different.

I got out after Hewitt won the first set and greened up for a nice even $65 minimum each side - this match could go either way.

Hewitt WIN $65.00
Soderling WIN $67.70

Wimbledon DAY 3

Well its raining at Wimbledon and it looks like its only centre court games on for a while tonight. I don't think there is much value in the 3 games on centre court as Williams and Nadal are both playing low ranked opponents.

Despite that I am going to start in the first game and lay williams at low odds of 1.05 for $1000. Its only a $50 liability but if she starts slow against Date Kremm - who is the oldest player on tour at 41 - she will move up and I will green out.

Sure enought Date Kremm got out to a 5-2 lead in the first set and I am getting the hell out!! Date-Kremm has a reputation against top players and finds it hard to serve out the set. I got out and turned out to be a fantastic start to the days betting. I left a little more on Date-Kremm's side just in case she stages the upset.

Williams WIN $294.50
Date Krumm WIN $348.00

The 2nd match I jumped on was Fish v Istomin.... Istomin was the outsider but I thought he might cause Fish some trouble... sure enought he did break Fish early and I greened out straight away... Fish went on to win the match in 3 sets but my profit was already guaranteed.

Fish WIN $74.20
Istomin WIN $72.50

Wimbledon DAY 2

After a good start to the first day with 3 from 3 I am starting off with the Stepanek/Verdasco Match. Stepanek has been playing well and is the outsider by Verdasco is not the best on grass and went out in the first round last year.

Stepanek broke Verdasco first service game and then held serve to go up 2-0 in the first set. After 9 mins of the match I am out and all green!!! Great way to start and any easy profit after 9 mins!!

Stepanek WIN $84.00
Verdasco WIN $70.00

Game 2 for the night was Williams vs Rezai. Williams back after a long injury spell and Rezai is a real hitter. I layed Williams thinking she would start slow and sure enought she did and dropped the first game and Rezai held serve to go 2-0 up in the first. I then got out and all Green... same result as the first game with Stepanek.

Williams WIN $105.00
Rezai WIN $106.00

Wimbledon DAY 1

I love June 20th.... The first day of the best tennis tournament of the year...... WIMBLEDON

I fished over the some of the games in the first round and picked 3 and was hopeful of a solid start to get some GREEN BOOKS..... And it was a good result - 3 from 3.

Riske WIN $300
Zvonareva WIN $60

Schuettler WIN $75.00
Bellucci WIN $70.00

Dokic WIN $116.00
Schiavonne WIN $150.20

Murray vs Bolelli

I love laying Murray in mens tennis... he never fails to choke at stages of a match and this game was no different. I got in on Bolelli and layed him off as Murray started to fight back into the match. It was another great result and again was one of the larger ones. I was going to trade out on this one alot earlier but held my nerve to get a much larger guaranteed profit.

Murray WIN $365.80
Bolelli WIN $570.00

Azarenka vs Na

Womens Semis at the Australian Open was a great match and I was all over Li Na in this one. She was great in the match and was a real powerhouse..

She went on to win the Final and be the first chinese womens player to do it.. Great effort and a great result!!

Na WIN $526.68
Azarenka WIN $430.80

Isner vs Nadal

Its been a while since I have made some posts so what better way to start than a monster result in the tennis.

I was sure the big servicing Isner would take a set from Nadal and sure enough he did. Worked out well for me and this was one of my largest GREENUPS to date

Isner WIN $1,100.00
Nadal WIN $520.00

NRL results - Older

I found older results that I have not posted on some NRL games and have put them up today. I try to stay away from the NRL as i much prefer to watch and enjoy the game than trade.

Anyway here are a few of the results that I have done on the NRL.

Tigers WIN $341
Newcastle WIN $399

Panthers WIN $52
Souths WIN $46

Panthers WIN $132
Titans WIN $91

Australia vs South Africa 15/2/2011

Well the cricket world cup is about to start so I am gearing up to get some good green book results. Australia collapsed in their first warm up and I am not to sure how they will bounce back. Ponting has been out of form but he has put a bullet up the team to perform especially in the middle order.

I thought that we might loose some early wickets as Haddin was rested last game and Watson has been on fire and was bound to have a lapse sooner or later.

Australia lost 2 early wickets with Haddin and Watson both going for ducks. I got on Australia at $2.96 and layed them off at $1.70 with Ponting and Clark holding up the middle order.

I though I would get out then as it was a good result with a good profit. Normally I would equal both sides but in this case I have left more on Australia and will see how the match progresses. Australia are only 122/2 and if they loose any wickets the odds will swing back quite sharply.

Australia WIN $191.80
South Africa WIN $79.00

Japan vs South Korea 25/1/2011

Its the semi finals in the Asian Cup and Japan are taking on their arch rivals South Korea.

I have been happy with Japan and think they are the better side of the two. Their passing and finishing has been great and their ability to score goals has been impressive.

I have decided to back Japan at 2.64 if South Korea score first I will increase my liability and lay them and hope for an equaliser. If that happens I will leave more out against the Win for Japan as they are my preferred team. I will also leave a small amount on the draw.

Japan WIN $190.32
Korea WIN 174.69
Draw WIN $68.20

Sharapova vs Petkovic

Well the young sensation Petkovic (who loves a dance at the end of the match) is up against proven Grand Slam player Sharapova.

I have been following Petkovic before the Australian Open and it looks like she has the goods to put some pressure on Sharapova and firm up in the odds. She should also be well rested after Williams retired hurt after the first game of the first set in the third round.

Sharapova WIN $162.00
Petkovic WIN $117.55

Kuznetsova vs Schiavone 23/1/2011

This match was sure to be close but WOW - must have been the match of the tournament and is the longest ever womens tennis match in history!

With break after break I decided to trade out for an early greenbook and sit back and enjoy this match. It was moving far to fast for me and seeing we can only bet in-play over the phone I stayed out of it.

Turned out this is the best tennis match I had ever seen!!!

Kuznetsova WIN $91.70
Schiavone WIN $91.08

Australia vs England 23/1/2011

I got into this match at the end of the English innings and layed Australia at $1.37 only to then see England drop 2 more wickets and be all out in the 48th over.

Its always difficult for cricket sides to chase down totals at night and with the Australian top order of late not posting large totals I think that we will loose some early wickets and the odds will come in.

I anticipate trading out of this match early and hoping to see at least 20 ticks before I close out.

I ended up trading out at 1.54 for a handy profit both sides - Another greenbook for the weekend.

Now I can sit back and cheer on the Aussie's and see if they can chase down this low total.

Australian WIN $52.98
Wngland WIN $53.00

Wozniacki vs Sevastova 23/1/2011

First up today is highly rated Wozniacki playing a mid top 100 ranked Sevastova in the 4th round of the Australian Open.

Wozniacki is a low odds favourite to take out the Womens draw but Sevastova has been playing well this tournament and has not dropped a set yet.

I will be laying Wozniacki at low odds and trading out if we can get an early break.

Wozniacki broke in her first service game and I got out very early with a nice greenbook of $63 to start off the day.

Wozniacki WIN $63.06
Sevastova WIN $64.00

Saturday, January 22, 2011

Nadal vs Tomic 22/1/2011

The Great Australian Hope - TOMIC

Nadal meets Tomic in the last of the third round matches of the Australian Open.

Nadal (as expected) is heavy favourite with lay odds at 1.03. I am going to lay those odds as Tomic might be able to take an early set with his funky shots and spin backhands.

There is alot of money to be made if Tomic can make a game of this one but I will trade out early at the first sign of movement in the market.

Tomic ended up loosing the first set 6-2 although it was alot closer than that in the first 4 games with Tomic even seeing a few break points.

Tomic then went 3-0 up in the 2nd and I traded out at that point in the match.

Tomic WIN $180.00
Nadal WIN $193.20

Clijsters vs Cornet 22/1/2011

Clijsters is the raving hot fav for this match but I just have a feeling that Cornet can cause her some trouble. Clijsters should win the match quite easily but in the Melbourne heat at lunchtime I am sure that it will be tough for both players out there - and possibly be some service breaks on both sides.

I am going to Lay Clijsters at very low odds and try and trade out at the hint of a service break.

Cornet ended up breaking Clijsters in the middle of the first step and I traded out for a healthy profit of $306.00 for a Clijsters WIN and $1024 for a Cornet Win......  This ended up being my best result for the day but I am waiting for the Tomic vs Nadal match later tonight. Hopefully we can beat this result later this evening.

Clijsters ended up breaking back and winning 2 sets to love.

Clijsters WIN $306.79
Cornet WIN $1024.00

Stosur vs Kvitova 22/1/2011

Aussie Stosur takes on Kvitova which is sure to be a tough match for Stosur. Kvitova is on the up and has risen through the WTA rankings in the last 12 months.

I am sure that Stosur will come out on top in the end but I think that Kvitova may put up an early fight and drop in price.

I am going to back Kvitova at $2.63 for $250 and try and trade out early in the match.

Kvitova nearly broke Stosur in her opening service game but Stosur fought back to hold - only to then break in her next service game. I traded out at 3-1 Kvitova.

Stosur WIN $117.00
Kvitova WIN $114.63

Japan vs Qatar 21/1/2011

Been getting into the Asian Cup over the past 2 weeks and thought Japan could do Qatar over easily..... Boy was I wrong.

Qatar scored in the first 20 mins to lead 1-0 and were at 7.20 at the start of the game.... Japan (heavy favourites) were at $1.68.

Japan soon equalised and half time went in at 1-1.

Soon after halftime a horrible decision to red card the Japanese defender for a tackle just outside the box which was a hopeless decision. Qatar scored from the free kick and were back in front.

Japan rallied and leveled again with 20 mins to go and it was game on! With 10 men and some scrappy play at the end they managed another goal to win 3-2.

I traded out with 5 mins to go as I could handle sitting on the edge of my seat for the rest of the game. All in all a great result and another night of successful trading.

Japan WIN $202.58
Qatar WIN $195.00
Draw WIN $195.00

Erlich/Ram vs Ball/Guccione 21/1/11

Well Well Well.......

I had big dollars laying Venus Williams against Petkovic which was my bet of the week. I was very confident that Venus couldn't keep up with Petkovic and, on top her groin injury, would lose is straight sets.

Venus retired hurt after breaking serve in the first game of the first set and all bets refunded..... NOT HAPPY

Oh well..... I am bored so I placed some money into a doubles match with Erlich/Ram vs Ball/Guccione after Ball/Guccione won the first set. I laid them at 1.69 and traded out at 1.86 for a tidy profit.

I am not to keen on keeping my money in a doubles match as they can go either way.

Erlich/Ram WIN $44.00
Ball/Guccione WIN $43.16

Australia vs England 21/1/2011

Australia vs England and the cousin is playing Doug Bolinger - I know he is geared up for a big one and here is hoping that they can stump up and bat and bowl.

I am laying England in this one and hope for and Australia fight back to win a match - which is much needed.

Australia WIN $196.61
England WIN $138.00

Del Potro vs Baghdatis 21/1/2011

Well another night of the tennis and I have come home at 10:00pm to see Del Potro down 2 sets to love with an early break in the 3rd.

Del Potro is to good of a player not to take a set in a Grand Slam so I am laying Baghdatis at 1.19 and hope to trade out at 1.5

20 mins later Del Potro breaks Baghdatis and takes the 3rd set and I have traded out at 1.50 for a good profit of $200.

Time to sit back and enjoy the rest of the match although I can see Del Potro taking the 4th set as well.

Del Potro WIN $207.00
Baghdatis WIN $206.50

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Federer vs Simon 19/1/2011

I have been waiting for this match all week. Federer faces Simon in the Australian Open and Simon has beaten Federer the last 2 times they have played - even though that was in 2008.

Federer is 1.06 to lay and I think that Simon - even though he might not win, will be able to take at least a set from the greatest player in the world.

Federer ended up taking the first 2 sets quite easily and Simon turned it on in the 3rd to make it 2-1.  Simon played some awesome tennis in the 4th set to make  it 2-2. I decided to get out at this point and enjoy the 5th set.

I would normally stay in as I was set to win up to $1,600 on a Simon win - but this is not about backing winners - Its about taking your money out when its there.

Roger Federer WIN $269.34
Giles Simon WIN $241.00

Hewitt vs Nalbandian 18/1/2011

We one of my favourite sports is here for the next 2 weeks so I have decided to get all over it. Nothing swings better in the markets than tennis especially in a 5 set match with the market moving up and down with plenty to be made. I hope that this years Australian Open is as good or better than last year.

2008 was a great year with Tsonga and Djokovic shining through - I have some high hopes for Simon (if he can get past Federer and Soderling - who has been playing strong tennis over the past 6 months.

Anyway back to tonights play......

What better match to predict a 4 or 5 set competition than Hewitt vs Nalbandian. They have a history of long drawn out matches and both players know for not holding the lead.

Hewitt took the first and third sets and was 2-1 up going into the 4th. Nalbandian was 3-1 down breaking serve and came back to 5-3 - LOVE IT.

David Nalbandian WIN $256.37
Lleyton Hewitt WIN $280.51

Australia vs England ODI 16/1/2011

Well its stinking hot at home and can't be bothering going out today - so what better think can I think of doing but watching the cricket.

Australia have been nothing less than poor this summer whilst England has enjoyed some new found glory with the bat and some quality bowling performances from Temlett and the like.

Predicting an English victory for this one on a fast wicket there should be some 270+ scores to chase down. If England bat first I can't see Australia making the runs without running out of wickets.

Traded odds for most of the day taking England Early at 2.12. Traded it off mid afternoon and then started taking high odds of Australia at 3.20 and trading off at 1.88. Was able to do this for 3 wickets starting from the Bollinger wicket late in the afternoon.

Australia WIN $75.25
England WIN $151.77
